Feb 2009 is now here and 90.9FM The Light is currently celebrating its Sweet 16th Birthday. C-91 began broadcasting at 10:15 in the morning on February 1, 1993 following a dedication ceremony at Liberty University's convocation service. The station was the only Contemporary Christian station in central Virginia for several years. We have had several improvements since then and have impacted many people.
In August 1995, the station added a new suffix to their name, "The Light." This was chosen as a symbol of the station's desire to shine the Light of God's love throughout Central Virginia. Philemon 1:6 was chosen as the station's theme verse: "that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." (NKJV)
In the summer of 2003, The Light changed from using a satellite service to being fully automated locally. This allowed the station to play a college style of music all day. Thus, C-91 became 90.9 FM The Light, which we remain today.
In the early 2000's, The Light added several specialty programs, including Liberty Church Services, an Urban Show, a Top-30 Program, Sports Talk, Political Talk, Gospel, and much more.
WWMC never stops changing and improving. We invite you to visit our studios off the courtyard of Liberty University on your next visit to the campus.

Christmas Musings
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love all the little things about, right down to the shmoltzy Christmas movies. I am all about Christmas trees and decorations. Yet, as I Prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord there are few things I need to Address.
1. Fake Christmas Trees:
For much of my life I grew up with a fake Christmas tree. Then my family had a glorious epiphany and realized how much better Real ones were.
The first real one we got was about 6 by 5-Six feet tall and five feet tall. While it did fall over, It was one of my favorite Christmas trees.
Fake trees do not capture the essence of Christmas. There is just something about treking out in the snow and cutting down your own tree. Plus, nothing beats that fresh pine scent.
2. Pink christmas Trees:
I will admit I got one for a friend for Christmas-All Be it begrudingly. Call me a traditionalist but Pink is not a Christmas color.
The nice things is that this can be kept up year round. However, pink does not say Merry Christmas-It says Hannah Montana wishes you a Merry Non-Sectarian non-denominational day Athiest kids get presents. I know that is harsh, however, that is the extent of my disdain for them.
3. Newsong The Christmas Shoes
I know I am breaking one of the cardinal rules of radio-never say a song is bad. However, this song just needs to go away. It is only promoting free loading in America. Although, the FM static version of this song is acceptable.
Now that I have griped, enjoy some Italian Christmas fun:
